History
IMQ S.p.A. was established in 1999 at the behest of the Italian Institute of Quality Mark. An association founded in 1951 in the form of an independent, non-profit organization, on the initiative of the leading national scientific and technical bodies in the electrical sector. This was the post-war period, and the urgency of reconstruction threatened to overshadow safety. A body was therefore needed to protect the market, verifying that the products marketed met defined quality requirements.
Over the years, the Italian Institute of the Quality Mark has undergone a development path that led it to progressively extend its field of activity and to acquire control of other companies, until 1999 when it decided to set up IMQ S.p.A. to entrust it with all operational activities, concentrating on itself those related to the dissemination and promotion of the culture of safety, quality and sustainability.

IMQ S.p.A. today
Today, IMQ S.p.A. is a company of IMQ Group, the holding company of the related Group. On the international front, IMQ is present with its own companies in China (IMQ Certification Shanghai), in the United Arab Emirates (IMQ Gulf), in Poland (IMQ Polska), in the United Kingdom (IMQ Certification UK), in Spain (IMQ Iberica and IMQ Tecnocrea) and in Turkey (IMQ Turkey).
